Fund policy

The Fund is managed as a long/short hedge fund, focused on extracting both beta and alpha returns from the South African equity market. Returns are driven by deep fundamental insight into South African equities, economic growth trends, and broader macroeconomic themes, as well as medium- to long-term relative valuation opportunities. The Fund generates the majority of its returns through its directional positioning, while relative value pairs and selective long and short positions aim to stabilise performance during turbulent market conditions. Active management of the Fund’s net exposure further supports downside protection and risk management.
