About Cor Booysen
Cor joined Fairtree in 2013 and is an Equity Portfolio Manager in the Investment team. He began his career in 1996 as an engineer at De Beers Group, before transitioning into consulting, where he worked from 2000 to 2008. During this time, he advised corporations in Johannesburg, New York and Sydney on strategy, operational optimisation and revenue enhancement.
He held roles as a senior associate consultant at Bain & Company, followed by positions at Enhance Value Creation and Seabury Consulting LLC in the United States. In 2008, he moved into asset management, serving as head of Resources and a fund manager at RMB Asset Management. He later joined HSBC as a sell-side analyst, covering the platinum and diversified mining sectors. Cor holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg.
