Herman Sandrock

Herman joined Fairtree in 2015 and is the Group Head of Distribution. He is responsible for leading and implementing the firm’s distribution strategy across client segments and geographies. He began his career in 2000 at Sanlam, where he served as Manager of the Specialist Solutions team.

In 2005, he relocated to the UK to develop a product strategy for Sanlam’s newly acquired business and subsequently held a range of senior leadership positions at Sanlam UK. These included Head of Product Strategy and Development, Head of Sales and Marketing and Chief Operating Officer of Sanlam Private Wealth.

In 2013, Herman returned to South Africa to join Glacier by Sanlam as Product Manager, where he focused on strategic initiatives, including the review of Glacier International’s platform business. He later joined Fairtree, initially as a Private Equity Portfolio Manager, before transitioning into his current role. Herman holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Mathematics from Stellenbosch University and is a qualified actuary.
